About the Old Essendon Grammarians Cricket Club

Welcome to the official website of the Old Essendon Grammarians Cricket Club. We are a proud club with a rich history, including 23 premierships in just 41 years of existence. Players such as Test batsman Les Joslin and Dennis Pagan donned the maroon and blue, and the current crop of players are ensuring the future will be just as bright as the past.

The club fields four senior teams in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association, playing in Senior Division, Senior Seconds North, North C1 and North C2. Training is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm from October to March. Pre-season training is on Wednesday nights in August and September.

The club is located at the East Keilor campus of Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School, Rachelle Road, East Keilor (Melways 15 G10). Our facilities are outstanding, including newly renovated change rooms, a supporter’s stand and balconies. On the second storey, the Cricketer’s Bar and a function room overlook our two excellent grounds.

New players of all ages, skills and experience are always welcome. Please contact Paul Shipp (Secretary) for more information about the club and on how to join: therealshippy@hotmail.com  or 0401 513 630.
